Basic Spoken English for 31 Healthcares of University Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM), 5 & 6 September 2024 at Wisma R&D University Malaya.
ACCEPT had the incredible opportunity to conduct a 2-day training session on Basic Spoken English with the dedicated healthcare team at UMMC, featuring 31 enthusiastic participants from various fields in healthcare.
Day 1: We dove into the fundamentals of spoken English, engaging in simple exercises that helped enhance our communication skills.
We noticed a diverse range of comfort levels among the participants when it came to speaking English. While some confidently engaged in conversations without hesitation, many others appeared reluctant, grappling with fears or shyness about speaking up.
It was heartening to see those who overcame their fears gradually opening up and participating more actively as the day progressed.
Day 2: We shifted our focus to Customer Service and Communication, emphasizing the importance of effective communication in healthcare settings. The discussions were insightful, and it was inspiring to witness the commitment to providing excellent patient care.
A huge thank you to all the participants for their energy and eagerness to learn!
We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the organizers of the Basic Spoken English training at UMMC. Your dedication and commitment to enhancing the communication skills of the healthcare team are truly commendable.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Pn Sharifah Salwa for her exceptional guidance during the first day of our Basic Spoken English training. Your expertise and passion for teaching created an engaging and supportive atmosphere that encouraged participants to step out of their comfort zones.
Together, we’re making strides toward better communication in healthcare.
