Protocol Practices and Diplomatic Etiquette: 19 October 2024 ACCEPT was given the opportunity to deliver a speech for the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP), catering to 21 officials from Timor-Leste on the topic of Protocol Practices and Diplomatic Etiquette.

Sharing insights with such an engaged and curious group was truly gratifying! The active participation and eagerness to learn from these dedicated officials made the session incredibly dynamic and rewarding.

The objective of the session was to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate various diplomatic scenarios with grace, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.

We delved into: Greetings and Introductions: The Art of Formal Etiquette – mastering formal introductions and salutations that reflect respect and understanding in international settings. 

Table Manners and Dining Etiquette – ensuring participants are confident in diplomatic dinners, knowing the subtle details of dining etiquette.

Appropriate Attire and Dress Code – understanding the importance of attire in different diplomatic events and how dress choices reflect respect for culture and occasion.

Gift-Giving and Receiving Protocol – learning the delicate art of exchanging gifts diplomatically, including cultural sensitivities, timing, and symbolism.

It is truly an honor to contribute to such impactful training, fostering the diplomatic ties between Malaysia and Timor-Leste.
